After much commercial success with the quality of our large format printing we have decided to introduce the service to everybody!
Cost effective photo enlargements need not be solely used for business purposes.
We can enlarge any image to any size and either install it for you or supply the finished product ready to hang.
What we can do
Many people now have digital cameras that have a very good resolution, known as the pixel count and is denoted by Megapixels (MP). The high resolution files generated by these cameras are ideal for enlargements, obviously the bigger the pixel count the bigger the enlargement can be before loss of quality.
Even then, we have specialist software that can enlarge photographs without the appearance of pixelation (where the image appears to become jagged). There will unfortunately be some loss of quality to these enlargements but as they are often viewed from much further away than a traditional photograph or computer screen the results are often breathtaking.
We can also scan in old photographs and retouch, restore and enhance them before printing to breathe new life into your favourite photos that often lie at the back of a drawer or in a box gathering dust.
Alternatively, should you wish to incorporate some less personal imagery into your surroundings we can print high resolution satellite photographs of your house, street or town.
If you describe the atmosphere or style you wish to achieve we can also offer an image finding service whereby we can locate a single or group of images united by a common theme. As this is a service we already offer to business customers, we have access to archives containing millions of images at very reasonable prices.
In addition to these services we also work closely with a number of professional local photographers and can recommend a suitable photographer for your particular requirements be it commercial, portraiture or pet photography.
How it works
Once you get in touch with us we will discuss your requirements and offer you the most honest and practical advice we can.
Print sizes can vary from A3 size to wall mural size, however the maximum width of image we can produce in house is 1.37m (5 feet). For murals larger than this we crop the image into sections and then either apply to boards that will butt together or apply to a surface much like you would with wallpaper.
Once we have established the image and it's intended size we will perform a test print of a small section to make sure it is acceptable. Once we are happy with the image it will be printed, allowed to dry and 'outgas' and then laminated with either gloss, matt or crystal laminate.
It will then be applied to your choice of substrate. Most commonly we would apply to a lightweight 8mm thick foam board. The image will then be trimmed to the board or wrapped around the edges to give a clean frameless look.
There are a variety of ways to install the image, either a traditional hanging method, for larger prints screwed to the wall using decorative cover caps or by using a stand off piece on the rear of the artwork.
Prices start at €30 to supply a small mounted and laminated print. Considering the prices of standard artwork displayed in furniture shops the bespoke photograph can often be cheaper, unique and more personal. The perfect gift!
